My necklace onstage!

My friend Suzanne Savoy recently performed in a play that took place in the 1920s, and wore one of my necklaces onstage.
The play was "Dodsworth" by Sinclair Lewis and Sydney Howard, and this production ran at the Metropolitan Playhouse in New York City.

Yang Taichi...fast!

Here is an impressive video of a man doing the form in a fast fashion.
I find it gives a totally new outlook on the form. It really emphasizes the martial art side of taichi.

Old illustrations from the 70's and 80's

1980's ad for Montreal's transport co. Watercolor, airbrush.

1980's, watercolor and charcoal. Ad for the Grand Toys Company.

Early 1980's, illustration for the cover of TV Hebdo, watercolor.

Fall, 1977, watercolor and charcoal pencil.

Here is a watercolor from the summer of 1977. One of the very first images from my very first portfolio.

I've decided to scan a some slides of illustrations from my beginnings in the 70's and 80's; here are a few of them... There will likely be more to come.

These are illustrations that go on different maps of Québec regions. They are meant to be used very small.

A new beginning

I was on my way to the post office, this image caught my eye. What a great illustration of a new beginning!

Just finished, sold already!

This necklace, made of very beautiful carnelian faceted nuggets, on a handmade chain, was finished thursday afternoon and sold the next day! I must admit that it was quite stunning "in person"!

Quebec Illustrators auction poster illustration 198...

This was the illustration for a Quebec Illustrators auction poster in the 80's.
There was one every year for a few years then, but due to bids being so low, it was abandoned.

An illustration from the 80's

This was to illustrate an article in L'Actualité magazine, on young adults returning home to their parents.

A ring or two...

Here are two rings that I made lately.
One is with a square mexican turquoise cabochon; this one is sold. The other one is with a nice kyanite cabochon.

A reversible pendant.

Here is a brand new pendant. I just finished it yesterday.
It is made of sterling silver with a black onyx cabochon.

A new pendant

I made this pendant the same day that I received that wonderful labradorite cabochon.
I find it's quite elegant.

Winter in Montreal

This is an old photo, from before the digital days, that I always liked a lot.
It's on the Plateau Mont-Royal.

Food for thought

-"Increasingly, by choice or by accident, this is the role our nation has taken -- the role of those who make peaceful revolution impossible by refusing to give up the privileges and the pleasures that come from the immense profits of overseas investment.

"I am convinced that if we are to get on the right side of the world revolution, we as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values. We must rapidly begin the shift from a "thing--oriented" society to a "person--oriented" society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered."
(Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.)
